Title: Muzzy bullets
Post by: Salmo on November 28, 2015, 12:26:46 AM
Whats  your favorite muzzy bullet and what kind of performance are you looking for?

I switched from Power belts two years ago looking for a bullet that didn't expand so much.   I went with a Dead Center.  Hammered a cow elk today.  I'll look into posting recovered bullet...

Power Belts IME expand to damn near the size of a quarter.   Hard to get pass throughs like that.   But a dead elk is a dead elk...

When I used power belts all I ever found was little fragments never a slug. Garbage bullet imo. I use the Leigh high bloodlines from knight. They group well and have great performance.

I'm using Barnes 290 grain TEZ bullets. I like them but haven't shot any animals with them yet. But being Barnes bullets I'd expect excellent performance, just like I've had with Barnes bullets out of my regular rifles. I wouldn't use Powerbelts on elk.

Never been a fan of powerbelts on anything ...
