Muzzleloader Hunting / Re: Let's see some Muzzy bucks

He grossed 140, so he should make it either way.   I am going muzzy again this year - can't wait for the Sept 25th season opener!

Does WA have a record book for muzzy?  He would probably make it, if so?

Nice Job JJ That's a good buck! Nice long tines  How wide is he? ... looks pretty wide for most Whitetails

A little over 21" wide.   Had to shoot him with that width!

Killed this buck a few hours into my first ever muzzy hunt last year......spot 'n stalk in wide open country.  Sat on him for a couple hours before he stood at about 100 or so yards.   Put the whack n stack on him.

Deer Hunting / Re: Hunt Clubs

This is my second hunt club in MT and I think you are doing everything right, Phool.   The important part is to choose law-abiding, easy going members.   Once people start getting an "entitlement" attitude and stop working together, things can get ugly.   Communication and understanding will go a long way.   I am looking forward to November!

I am making up for your good luck, Rob.   I am 2 for 5 lifetime in MT.    Tag times are so hard for me this year, I had to take a buck to Charlie yesterday that I killed in '99 just so I could get one up on the wall this year.............that ain't good, boys

I think that I am going to give the 10x42 Geovid HD's a chance this summer.   I need a good rangefinder/bino combo for 'yote and archery hunting.   I hope that I don't have the same problems with the rangefinder function as I have with the LRF/CRF.   Don't kid yourself,  I won't get rid of the EL's and Swaro Rangefinder anytime soon.   :cheesy:

Polls / Re: Defensive Edge Brake vs VAIS

You are not suppoed to turn down the DE breaks, but.....my barrel was .875 at 27", so.......it worked out.   This was not by chance, that is the benefit of ordering a custom barrel.

The break is threaded on and the second smith did a great job with the contour and bead blasting.   Took him two tries to get it timed to my liking which is important because the baffles are are engineered with a little more taken off on top to keep the muzzle jump to a minimum.   If the break is canted, you will get some side jump and the rifle won't come straight back at recoil.

My "hunting" rifle will shoot in the .1's at 100 yards......I am a little more particular than most.

Here is my DE brake.   Contoured and bead blasted.   Makes the 300 WM a joy to shoot.
