General Discussion / Taneum GMU336 Muzzleloader Cow tag advice needed.
« on: September 26, 2012, 10:31:11 AM »
Hey,
I know this GMU fairly well, but with the weather the way it is and possible closures of roads, does anyone have good insider info on where the elk are hanging out in the GMU? I have never hunted this GMU during muzzleloader season, so not sure how big the crowds are either. Any help or advice is appreciated.

Deer Hunting / Lake Chelan modern deer out of a boat?
« on: February 21, 2012, 03:58:37 PM »
Has anyone ever hunted out of a boat up the shores of Lake Chelan. I can't really see anywhere in the past regs where it says that it is illegal or see any issues with doing it. I could be totally wrong but am missing something if I am.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Muzzleloader Hunting / anyone buy a traditions vorkek NW edition yet?
« on: September 15, 2011, 12:21:14 PM »
I bought one this past spring and just started shooting it a few weeks ago. It was completely sighted in right out of the box. After ten rounds through the gun, I was still dead on with only some slight fowling of the breach plug area.

Anyway, it's very lightweight and feels great in the hands. I just wanted to put the word out to anyone looking for a new muzzy that it is an awesome weapon. Other guys shooting muzzies at the range were most impressed as well. Can't wait to kill something with it this fall.

Happy huntin'

Fishing / 80# halibut out of Mutiny bay on Saturday

Actually had a hard time getting any decent pics on the boat holding it as it was so heavy. I know 80 pounds doesnt sound like much, until you're holding a slimey 80 pounds.  :dancing:   :cheesy:

General Discussion / introducing myself finally
« on: February 13, 2011, 08:39:40 AM »
Hey,
I have been on this site for a couple of months now and I must admit that I am addicted to reading the threads and looking at all the great pics you guys post. I also am finding myself learning a lot. So, if anyone cares, here it goes.

I have been hunting and fishing for my entire life. I am not a trophy hunter and heck, I am not even a good hunter or fisherman but I have caught and killed some fine fish and animals along the way. For me its all about the experience and just getting out there. I bought a 2010 wooldridge Alaskan XL to get me to those spots this past year and am loving the boat. I highly recommend going with Wooldridge if you are looking at boats. I found this website from my cousin Pope shawn paul, who has great skills with photography and he and his brother and my brother are all close friends and brothers for life. We were all raised outdoors and have carried on those passions with our kids.

So, if you need anything on the north end near lake stevens or are looking for someone to tag along on an adventure let me know. I work full time for the Washington Army National Guard and we are always looking for good people to serve the state as well.
