Any pics of the finished product? I want to build one before we go to Wyoming for lopes.
Michael-  Cheesy photo but you get the jest.  Still not completed hey I got several more months till I need it...  Got a couple pulleys that will be added and a detachable come along to assist the lifting.  Also putting a bracket to hang a collapsible three gallong water jugs for those wash down needed times.  Best part it cost me just a couple dollars, pays to know a welding lawyer...

I don't have any pictures of it.  I think you took all of them.  I could not believe how good it worked and how easy the deer went up.  I used mostly surplus parts from around the shop and bought a cheap little boat winch and some cable and pulleys.

Michael - we're going back to WY for lopes this year and want to build a skinning pole.  It looks pretty straightforward, but anything you would change with yours?  Other recommendations?

I would add a latch to keep it from turning.  Also I didn't think it would be that big of a deal. Our problem was when we got back to camp to skin the critter we had to jockey the truck around to stay in the shade.  I was going to install one but was short on time. I put a lot of thought into it and couldn't decide how I wanted it? Maybe just a simple gate latch? A spring loaded one? But I would want it to latch strait out the back and on both sides. Other than that it's perfect!!!
