We stayed in Lewistown. Our bucks were all taken within 2-3 miles of each other.

Thanks all. For my first trip, it pretty much met expectations, I can't wait to go back. The cold was brutal, -12 and snowing most of the time, our guns jammed up a lot and water bottles froze solid. The buck in the bottom pick was very lucky, he was on an open ranch about 2-300 yards within the safe zone, otherwise I would have taken him, hard to tell from the angle but he was a good 4x4 not real wide but I would have been happy with him. I took a 3pt muley on the 2nd to last day of hunting, wouldn't you know it the very next day while driving to the meat processor I see a super nice 20" 5x5 walnut racked whitetail standing broadside at 40 yards in an open area, I have a photo of him on my other PC. That's the way it goes, but it was a great trip, one I won't forget.

Thats a nice pile in the back of that pickup, you would have got your ass chewed if I were there though. Get those tarsal glands off those back legs, man those things stink :toetapper:

I agree, normally when I am not in that situation I take and save the tarsals from my blacktail, getting three bucks on the last day and trying to get them processed before we left town was a mad dash. Here are some other shots of our trip.

The whitetail on the top is the one on open ground heading out the last day of the season .
