Not the same bull.  Though the same "guide"  Wick also guided Dan Agnew to that 454" bull a year or two after this particular 'hunter' bought the gov tag!

I am just throwing a dart into space but if Wick does not have the proper license to guide and he got in trouble for this, and Agnew used him as well do you think there might be charges coming  for Him as well?

Did Agnew do anything illegal?

They say in the story that the governors tags raised about $200,000.00 for washington.
After all the costs related to this case I would guess that Washington (the tax payers) actually lost money on this deal.

What a joke :bash:

I'm just confused why the bull was not confiscated. Don't smaller hunting crimes result in loss of the trophy, if so then why not this time?

Couldn't tell you for sure.  I don't think Agnew did anything wrong but probably pay Wick for guiding services that Wick did not have a right to 'sell'.  Agnew could claim he was mislead by the guide.  Who knows???

He was prosecuted for providing false information to a Forest Service Official, not a hunting offense. If he was charged by WDFW for using a helicopter, then I agree, it should confiscated and removed from any record book.

His guide was prosecuted by the Forest Service for guiding in an area other than his assigned area, not a hunting offense.

What's the statute of limitations on hunting violations?  I know the RCW's I have to enforce are 3 years.  Maybe that's why they let him keep the bull?  But why would charges even filled then?

Most gross misdemeanors are 2 years and simple misdemeanors are 1.  Depends on the charge really but if it was a felony then 3+ years depending...
