 YEP thats the whole story you read. Wonder what he will get once he is sentenced in Sept? Everyone on the board has great questions such as why wasnt the bull taken etc. If there is such violations I can't imagine why the USFS isn't doing more.
Thank you men and women of the military!

Well All I can say is by this statement? ... you sure made it sound like you were saying cause you know him and have been to his place this must not be true and that Jon is getting the shaft?  :dunno:

Look I'm not the only one that took your statement this way so if it's not the way you meant it? then by all means do explain! You are clearly asking people to look at his side and not bash him like there must be some unknown information not disclosed to us. If he has a side we need to hear then do tell?

Ya I can see how my comment would be taken. I know there is more to the story but thats not for me to talk about. Obviously someone messed up on that hunt. It's hard when you see someone you know and respected get into a pinch.
Thank you men and women of the military!

Update on Sentencing From Sunday's Spokesman Review

Trophy elk hunter tagged for lying
OUTLAW – Outback Outfitters guide Jon C. Wick, 46, of Summerville, Ore., and Tod L. Reichert, 72, of Salkum, Wash., have pleaded guilty to criminal violations in a 2007 Blue Mountains elk hunt involving Washington’s coveted “Governor’s tag.”

Reichert purchased the any-bull auction tag and hired Wick’s guiding service.

Violations include using a helicopter to spot elk for the hunt, guiding outside the outfitter’s licensed area, and lying to enforcement officers.

Reichert’s sentence includes a $5,000 fine and two years’ probation during which he cannot enter a national forest. Wick’s sentencing is set for Sept. 13.

Neil, in the the daily chronicle they were saying they were also looking into another Wa guiding trip Wick had done.  The word has always been he was affiliated with the first Agnew bull....

I wondered if there would be any association between those two auction tags.  I am guessing this story will continue.

Like huntnphool said earlier - I have a hard time understanding why they didn't confiscate the bull based on the helicopter usage.  Is that a WDFW function, and because this is being lead by the USFS, they don't handle it in the same fashion ? (rhetorical question)  I don't know the answer, but it does seem odd that WDFW didn't get involved on their own Auction tag.

All WDFW cares about s money.they wouldn't want to chase off a customer of that stature.as for this guide,if he's using helicopters "respected" or not he should have his licence pulled at the least.sounds like a loser to me.....

If we all (us little guys) know the regs, then the rich guys know them as well and should follow the rules.

Tired of the rich screwing us. I am mainly talking about traffic because of our great president last night around Seattle!
