« on: February 15, 2012, 06:40:49 AM »
went to the range today and took the 338 with me.  only shot a few rounds as my shoulder took a pounding.  i need a limb saver BAD.  anyway it shot 2,628 fps.  i think this is too slow for this thing dont ya think?
That isn't bad, mine run em out at about 2800, I have tried some other powders and have pushed 3000 but accuracy goes to hell for me when they get up there.

The bio I sent these pics to said he was confident that it is not a yote. There was a hunter that walked through that exact spot 1hr and 15 min earlier.

I have not seen one for a Tundra yet but the ones for the newer fords have a spacer for the spring on the top side of the strut so it does not change the geometry on the steering/suspension. .02

Cars, Trucks,Boats and Motor Bikes / Re: 2005 2500 silverado 6.0l
« on: October 07, 2011, 10:05:51 AM »
I actually have the answer. We took the 5.3 out of a 00 1/2 ton. Stroked a 6.0 to 408 cid, crower cam and lifters, fast intake, 102mm throttle body,$1100 race tuned headers, 3.5 in x pipe exhaust, runs on 89 octane and will do 17 on the highway empty and pull anything you want to hook to it. 475 hp to the wheels.....simple

The 6.0 is not a big powerhouse and will likely get the mileage you suggested in optimal conditions on the highway. 9-10 in town. They are pretty tough engines but the tranny is nothing special, just like many of GM's trannies at about 100k you will likely go through it. .02
